FAQs & info
Scratches and marks
All of my ceramics are handmade, meaning that some marks or scratches will appear along the process, due to the manipulation and treatment of the pieces. I do leave some of those marks or scratches because of their value to me.
I do tend to keep away from perfection. I’m trying to appreciate the process, thus allowing the pieces to tell their own stories.
Some pieces might have irregular glazes or surface. Those textures are choices that I have made. Otherwise they would be listed as “Discounted” pieces.
Restocking dates
Information can be found on my instagram page @terrahumida.
If the restock date isn’t specified, it means that I’m currently working on a new batch. A date will be announced as soon as possible, in my stories and in my bio.
Reserving Items
I DO NOT reserve any items from the restock.
Discounted pieces
Some pieces are discounted for different reasons:
The glaze was not what I expected it to be, I’m not convinced about or it may have reacted differently than the rest of a batch.
Small cracks appeared during the firing or when the pieces were drying out. It does not affect the function of the piece, only its esthetic.
I do not want to throw away pieces that I have worked on for so long, I rather list them as discounted.
Please do read the details on each specific item to learn more about it.
Pre-orders, commissions, wholesale
I do work with pre-orders, commissions and wholesale.
You can contact me via my email address or instagram.
Depending on the period, or the amount of commissions/work, the service may not be available. But check in every month for new availability. Should be specified on my Contact page.
If you have any doubts about the process, contact me and I will explain to you how it works.
Stay humble and be patient
I would like you to keep in mind that there’s only one person working behind Terra Humida.
I am, all at the same time, creating the pieces, in charge of the Instagram account, dealing with emails, messages and comments, taking all of the pictures, dealing with the administration, packing all of the ceramics and facing all of the complications that can show up along the way. So please take this into consideration.
I am aware that the society we are living in compels us to believe that we can get everything whenever, and as soon as we want. Nevertheless, ceramic does not work this way. It is a profession that requires plentiful of time to happen and shape. There is no way it can be rushed without compromising the process.
So if you see that it is taking longer than expected for you to get an answer, to receive your parcel or commission, bare in mind that I am working on it. I DO NOT take advantage of any of you.
Thank you so much for all of your support, which I’m so grateful for!
Shipping
National shipping
International shipping
I do not cover the shipping expense, meaning that shipping costs are at your charge (customs taxes + import fees) on top of the piece’s cost. You will find the exact shipping commission when checking-out a piece.
Every single piece is packed very carefully, since it is the most important part of the process, in order to ensure a safe and sound travel to their new place.
Shipping costs ARE NOT cheap! Be aware that it depends on weight, parcel’s sizes and final destination.
Usually we tend to forget about this aspect because of the shipping policies of bigger retailers that work on mass distribution.
Broken Piece upon arrival
Once you receive the parcel with a broken piece. You would need to follow the following procedure:
It needs to be notified before 2 days have pasted from the delivery of the parcel. You will need to get in contact with the shipping company that delivered the parcel to your door and open a claim. Once you do so, you’ll need to send me the claim number, given by the shipping company.
You’ll need to send me pictures of:
The parcel. One or more in which the label is visible, outside view. And also from the inside of the parcel, showing the packaging used to protect the piece/s.
The broken piece, how it arrived to you. One or more of the broken piece and its packaging, outside the box.
And pictures of the piece inside the box. If the piece was traveling with other pieces, they’ll need to be also placed inside the parcel with the broken piece.Keep the box and the packaging during the process, since the shipping company could ask for further details.
If one or more of the details listed are missing, the piece won’t be covered.
Your Parcel is lost? Wasn’t delivered, or was returned to the shipper?
The INSURANCE COVERS 25 DAYS from when the shipment is booked. If you see that your Parcel does not arrives before those 25 days, please, CONTACT ME.
Otherwise the insurance won’t cover the service, therefore, your piece won’t be covered.
Designs
I regularly work with most of the designs you can find on my Instagram profile. This does not mean that they will always be available on my restock since I keep on exploring and creating new designs.
Restocking of some designs can happen only from time to time so keep on checking in.
If you would like to get a specific design and you do not want to wait, you can always place a commission.
